It’s a parents worst nightmare, a child or cat climbs over the banister or balcony and falls.

Here at Child Senior Safety we receive tons of emails and messages. A recent one from a concerned mother, she has 2 young boys who love to climb.

She was concerned about them climbing or even leaning over their banister on the 2nd floor, that looks down on their 1st floor.

She thought about placing metal railing on top of the banister, but thought it would just encourage them to climb. Another issue she was having, was the children throwing things over the banister onto the 1st floor.

We were able to help this parent by creating a safer environment for her children with our custom banister safety walls. They are the perfect solution for banisters, tailings, balconies, patios, and more.

They are very durable and an attractive solution. A clear shield creates an invisible barrier to ensure your child doesn’t climb over or fall over, from the second floor to the first.

What about safety building codes?

Most parents think since their home is up to the most recent building codes they don’t have to worry. Unfortunately, these guidelines, which vary throughout the country, were not necessarily created with children’s safety in mind.

The ‘climb over’ hazard is real

This is especially true if your staircase has a ledge, horizontal rails, or decorative iron, making it easier for your child to use them as a ladder. Even if they are just trying to climb around a baby gate, they can be in real danger.

Peace of mind

According to the CDC, accidents (unintentional injuries) for children between the ages of 1 and 4 are the leading cause of death. Childproofing your home is an important step in keeping them safe.
